The panhandle regional office for IDFG is in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and manages regional wildlife programs, licenses, and conservation enforcement across North Idaho, Lakes, rivers, and rugged backcountry. Their officers come down to the market to teach adults and children about the bears, how to protect themselves, their lifespan, etc. The panhandle of Idaho, both three of Idaho’s biggest lakes and Fish Field rivers. These northern waters are home to cold water, native fish, like Westslope cutthroat and bull trout, as well as Tiger Muskie, Lake Trout, Kokanee, Chinook, and Bass. Eight of Idaho‘s 11 big game animals can be found in North Idaho. Whitetail and mule deer, elk, mountain, goat, moose, black bear, mountain lion and wolves. This also includes grizzlies, which is not an animal that can be hunted. The area is an outdoor enthusiast playground Idaho fishing game officers have education at their booth to train you on what to do if you encounter a predator and how to safely escape and coexist with them.
